DESCRIPTION:

Every summer the Texas Forestry Association sponsors the Teacher Conservation Institute (TCI), a week-long summer camp for educators that focuses on the environmental, economic, and social well-being of the state that comes through the scientific stewardship of its natural resources. This workshop is open to classroom teachers of all grades, non-formal educators, or anyone interested in teaching youth about forestry and conservation education. Participants will receive training in Project Learning Tree’s interdisciplinary environmental education curriculum designed to teach students critical and creative thinking. You will have the opportunity to interact with foresters, biologists, loggers, landowners, and mill workers who care for forests and make products you use every day. 40 hours SBEC CPE credit and 40 hours TEEAC credit.
